Hotel accommodations (room/taxes/fees for one room each night) for the nights of Sunday, October 18th, and Monday, October 19th, are included for each NFIB Leadership Trust Platinum, Gold or Silver member (including a guest, if applicable). Attendees are responsible for any additional nights, incidentals or upgrades. The hotel requires a personal credit card upon check in. A hold of $100.00 per night will be placed on your card that will be released upon checkout. However, depending on your bank it may take up to 7 days to appear on your account. If you are using a debit card for the hold, please know that funds will be withdrawn from your account and may take longer than 7 days to reimburse. The use of debit cards is strongly discouraged by the hotel. 

Check-in time is 3:00pm and check-out time is 12:00pm. Luggage storage is available for your convenience. 

If you plan to extend your stay at The Hotel Heron (either before or after the program), please indicate that during the registration process. Additional nights will be at your own expense. You may need to provide a credit to the hotel prior to your arrival to guarantee your additional nights. NFIB Staff will contact you with more details. The NFIB group rate is $254.00 per night plus taxes and is based on availability. However, shoulder date rates could be much higher and/or the hotel may be sold out during this very busy time of the year in Alexandria.

The closest airport is Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport (DCA). Please plan to arrive on Sunday, October 18th, in time for the cocktail reception which begins at 5:00pm. Plan to depart after the informal breakfast on Tuesday, October 20th.  

The fastest and most economical way to reach the hotel from the airport is to take a taxi or ride share (Uber or Lyft). If you are renting a car, plan to wait at least one hour to retrieve your rental car.

If you are driving to Alexandria (or renting a car), valet parking is available at a rate of $45 per night plus tax and is not an NFIB covered expense.

The average temperature in Alexandria in October is typically 70 degrees during the day. The evening low is typically around 49 degrees.

Dinners are business casual. Breakfasts and our Monday excursion are casual. Special note: For the tour at George Washington's Mount Vernon, be “weather aware for what to wear.”  We recommend wearing comfortable, closed-toe shoes and dressing in layers (with a light jacket or raincoat). Most of our time at Mt. Vernon will be outside, enjoying the grounds at our leisure in addition to the tour of the house. Many of the walkways are pebble, yet easily accessible.
